I wound down Fimio in May 2026 after four years. Since then I have been building again: CodeStories tells a codebase as a story, with every claim pinned to real lines and every chapter checked like a test. Ten stories and the full evaluation are public, failures included. The next version tells the story of a pull request, so a reviewer can follow what a change does before reading the diff.
What I am thinking about
- Comprehension, now that code is generated faster than anyone can read it. CodeStories is my first answer.
- Craft in software. What it means to make something well when the cost of making it has collapsed.
- Agent ops — where and how AI agents get tested and deployed, and what new economic models become possible around that infrastructure.
- Africa's AI moment, and what leapfrogging actually requires beyond capital.
Recently
- Shipped CodeStories with a preregistered evaluation against DeepWiki, and published both my rule's verdict and my own.
- Wrote about luxury and software and what GitHub actually owns.
- Selected by the U.S. State Department for AI diplomacy in Nigeria: keynoted on the future of AI at the University of Lagos, and led responsible-AI training for 300+ staff and students at YABATECH with the U.S. Consulate General.
- Advising founders building AI and developer tools.
